be a reflection

This picture is what we should be – a perfect reflection of how God created us to be – to stand tall in the midst of a storm not wavering when troubles strike. I could say more but I ask you: what do you see?

Here’s some verses to contemplate as you think about being a reflection:

As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man.” Proverbs 27.19

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.” 1 Corinthians 13.12

Here’s some more. Be introspective and reflective as you read:

Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realise that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?” 2 Corinthians 13.5

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.” James 1.22-24

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Matthew 7.3-5

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12.2

And if need be: Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.” Lamentations 3.40

Then, we can be a better reflection of the Lord as we strive to…
