be grateful where you are at

It is summer in my neck of the woods. Swimming, beach days, ease in the sun are all apart of this season.

If you don’t live near a beach, listen to some seagulls or waves online.

Take in the relaxation of the calm of the sea.

I have lived in several countries and visited lots more. What a privilege it is to live through and experience the seasons in different climates and settings of the world.

What is it about your neck of the woods you love? Please do tell.

But, regardless of where you live, be grateful where you are at!

An attitude of gratitude is contagious and just might prompt someone to join you to…

Daily let your light shine in the summer sun or the darkest storm. People are watching. Let them see you be a living, breathing testimony for our Lord.

Check out this previous post on summer rain:

That is the weather we were having last night but more like a torrential storm uprooting trees and leaving all kinds of debris on the highways and byways. I was grateful that I was kept safe as well as my family and church which is where I happened to be to ride out the worst of it.

in the stillness of the forest there is rest

Is your mind cluttered?

Do you feel you can’t focus as too many thoughts race through your brain?

Take a quiet walk in the forest. Revel in the stillness. Take in the beauty and fresh air. I promise it will help calm the mind and soothe the soul.

I do believe in the stillness of the forest there is rest.

Or find some other natural habitat to soak in God’s presence through the quiet of His created. Perhaps a beach or a meadow will provide the same solstice I found while I walked around a local reservoir.

Ask God to show you the stillness and find rest for your soul.

Be still and know I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46.10 NIV

As a deer longs for streams of water, so I long for You, God.” Psalms 42:1 HCSB

God, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, You find me quiet pools to drink from. True to Your Word, You let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction.” Psalm 23:1-3 MSG

When you find rest, your soul will be restored and you can…

that much better.

treasures of the sea

It has been said that one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. I would say this is true for beach combers. Some are there to gather shells, others for drift wood, and still others for seaglass.

Some prefer running or walking at or on the beach with no time to spare to look at what they are passing. Others are there solely to see whose passing by as they propel watch. Some come just for the sake of cleaning up the litter others left behind.

What’s your ideal beach day?

Let us know in the comments and let us know when your next beach day may be? If you don’t live near a shoreline, get out in another nature setting.

Whatever you fancy don’t miss the treasures nature has to offer and the sea has so many. I am constantly amazed at the creativity of our Lord and if we think about the depths of the sea, we can not fathom His love or what all is still in there to be discovered.

“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is.” Ephesians 3.18

Seek the treasure of God’s love and…
