We often aren’t aware of the TONE of our voice when we speak to others. Sometimes our TONE says more to a person than if we had spoken words. TONE can be accusing, demeaning, condescending, sarcastic, and very hurtful. TONE can also can be loving, appreciative, sympathetic & kind.
TONE often is misinterpreted in a text or email. So even when writing, be careful and aware of TONE.
We all have room for improvement.
It’s not what you say but how you say it!
Be gentle, loving, and let your TONE be such that others have no doubt who you are, whose you are, and that your desire is to be a living, breathing example of Christ.
by applying the following verses:
“Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.” Proverbs 15:4
“Kind words are like honey – sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” Proverbs 16:24
“A person’s words can be life-giving water; words of true wisdom are as refreshing as a bubbling brook.” Proverbs 18:4
“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but hard words stir up anger.” Proverbs 18.1
