no need to complain

Came home. Tomorrow is garbage day. No one put it out. No need to complain just do the thankless job.

Dog hasn’t been walked, fed, or let out. No need to complain just give the food, water, and take that pup for an appreciated walk.

Laundry in the dryer, dishes in the sink, more needed unloading before dirty can be loaded. Don’t comment. Don’t get upset. Just leave it or do it. No need to complain.

Mail hasn’t been opened. Bills need to be paid. Just do it. No need to complain.

You get the picture. Someone cuts you off, something rubs you the wrong way, someone doesn’t do what should have been done. No need to complain.

The Bible tells us not to complain so let’s just do it.

When it is understandable that we have a reason to complain, let’s not so others will notice and see us…

Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.”Philippians 2.14-16

We could try our whole life through just to apply this one verse telling us that we should not complain. Try to do it and tell us about how You exhibited some self control for is there really a need to complain?

Complaining breeds discontent and can drag another down into your mess.

Don’t complain.

Sometimes those are the exact things God can use to break you of impatience, help you conquer your frustration, and help you appreciate it really is not the end of the world as Francesca Botticelli sings about:

Now listen and remember there is no need to complain.
