Yep, it sure is and I suppose everyday of the year there is something to be celebrated or observed. But, this day excites me.
It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, you can still explore the world around. If there are places you want to see, check out a book from the library and learn more or watch a travel documentary and pretend you are there. To take it a step further, you could play a virtual reality game in the country of your choosing then you will really get a feel for it.
Having a thirst for knowledge helps expand your mind and that is why I like this day’s observance – it is to recognize traveling does just that – expands the mind.
Traveling also helps you understand the different cultures and customs that might be completely different to what you have grown accustom to.
India is the host country this year.
The richness of culture and differences of spices from region to region is incredible.
The theme this year is ‘a better future for all’ as tourism as jobs is explored.
Take a moment and find a fun fact on the country of India to share with us all in the comments.
As we learn about the differences of this vast world, we come to realize that people all over the world are just as in need of God’s forgiveness as those of us who have already accepted it.
“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…”. 1 Peter 3.15
Travel or not, find someone you can share your faith with to help them…
“Sing to the Lord; praise His name. Each day proclaim the good news that He saves. Publish His glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things He does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods.” Psalm 96.2-4
