the lost coin

I didn’t lose a coin but I have been known to loose lots of other things – the most annoying is loosing car keys especially when I am running late and need to head out the door.

I am grateful I can send a signal out to my phone even when it is on silent to retrieve it. I need to have something for those keys too! But here is the thing, as Francesca Botticelli songs says: this is the stuff that drives us crazy, but it is exactly the stuff God uses to refine us, help us grow in patience, and to remind us how much we are blessed. Jesus spoke in parables, but this one’s meaning about the lost coin is pretty obvious.

…imagine a woman who has ten coins and loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and scour the house, looking in every nook and cranny until she finds it?
