Stop and pray.
“Do they not go astray who devise evil and wander from the way of righteousness? But kindness and truth will be to those who devise good.” Proverbs 14:22
Today is March 1st and the old saying: in like a lion and out like a lamb may be heard or discussed.
I have a few thoughts on this saying. Of course, the obvious meaning is how the beginning of the month we are still in the season of winter with its boisterous winds and lion-like vice grip. But, by month’s end, in theory, the cold departs and the nicer weather of the next season begins to emerge.
We should be in a constant change of seasons in our lives always striving to let the Lion of Judah reign, our King and Messiah who humbly rode in on a donkey that Palm Sunday long ago.
Our faith reminds us that Christ road in on a lamb but will return one day as the Lion of Judah.
This next week marks the beginning of Lent, a period of fasting before Easter Sunday arrives. Perhaps, if you do not plan to participate with fasting food, you could with thoughts and deed. Purpose in your heart not to slander or belittle another all the while focusing on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12.2). Then, others will see you…
