Why is it some artists are known with their first names like Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni (Michelangelo Buonarroti for short or simply Michelangelo) while others their last like Leonardo Da Vinci (or simply Da Vinci)?
Why is it the sky or ocean are blue? Is the sky blue because of the ocean or the ocean blue because of the sky? (By the way, that is the number 2 most asked question on google. Number 1 is ‘why is it we have a leap year?’ (I knew you want to know or you would be googling it yourself!)
Why is it?
Why is it?
What are things that you wonder ‘why is it’? Please comment and let us know.
What I do know is the God of the universe is filled with wisdom. His Word can cure us of curiosities and answer many of the ‘why is it’ questions we have. And frankly, some we do have don’t really need to be answered this side of heaven. One day when we have our new bodies, I am convinced we will have a new, all-knowing mind too!
But, it is always good to learn and search for answers. The best learning of answers can be found in scripture. Get to know The Word inside and out from cover to cover. I often joke that won’t we be embarrassed when we meet the saints that have gone before and lived in Bible times and don’t know their stories. Get to know who Obadiah is and all the other minor prophets. How about the rulers that left examples for us of what to do or what not to do: David, Jacob, Moses, and the rest. Learn from the wisdom of Solomon who is the wisest man to have ever lived. Get to know your Bible and the record of the lives recorded within its pages.
You might not be able to answer all the ‘why is it’ questions, but you will grow in wisdom and knowledge on matters of the heart.
And that dear friends is how we can best…
“…grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3.18
