ten nine eight seven six…

It is almost here. The new year! I can almost taste the excitement and smell the dreams that lay in the wings waiting to be made and followed.

For me, I am beside myself with glee to see the plan of posting a daily blog entry come to fruition as this has been something desired for some time. I just never took the time to make it happen. I also anticipate learning from my new theme word as it kicks in tomorrow. As I surrender last year’s word, I have a feeling it will be sticking around some as I continue to apply it. (More on that another day.)

What about you?

Do you have any dreams for this new year that is almost upon us?

Any bucket list items you plan to check off?

Any last hurrah plans before 2018 turns into the next? And what plans are in store for 2019?

Well, before we get to all that, the first question that needs to be answered is: What are you doing for New Year’s Eve before this year fades away?

I have always wanted to go to NYC to see the ball drop but not too excited about standing for 9 plus hours in a sea of people where I am told if you leave to go to the bathroom, you forfeit your spot. Going to the South Pacific Islands of Samoa might be grand as they are one of the firsts to celebrate the new year. Christmas islands or New Zealand would be close seconds too. How about flying off to American Samoa where it is the last place on earth to see the final sunset of the year?

I am also a sucker for a good fireworks spectacle and many big cities around the globe will set off magnificent displays.

I think it would also be great to take a flight to try to make it to countdown to the new year twice in one night!

There are too many options to describe and perhaps you will want to add some to your future planning.

Adventuring would be grand but more importantly is contemplating God’s plan.

Thank Him that He allowed you to have enough faith to finish 2018 off strong mentally, physically, and spiritually.*

And remember: Anything that you can’t control in life is teaching you to let go.* So don’t carry baggage into the new year; let it go!

The end of one year and the beginning of the next is a good time to reflect on how you have been doing bearing witness as a God-worshipper this past year. It is also a good time to ask yourself what can I change to be a better Christ follower for the year to come?

Take some time to reflect.

Take some time to pray.

Take some time to put the good in good bye for 2018 and anticipate a great beginning for 2019.

I personally really look forward to you joining me for my daily muses and doses of how we can…

and be better at it each and every day of the year to come.

Be safe. Be smart. And go…
